ปืนเลวิส
ปืนเลวิส(หรือ ปืนกลอัตโนมัติเลวิส หรือ ปืนไรเฟิลอัตโนมัติเลวิส) เป็นปืนกลเบาสัญชาติอเมริกาในสมัยสงครามโลกครั้งที่หนึ่งซึ่งการออกแบบที่สมบูรณ์และผลิตออกมาเป็นจำนวนมากในสหราชอาณาจักร[2] และใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลายโดยทหารแห่งจักรวรรดิบริติชในช่วงสงคราม มันได้มีการระบายความร้อนด้วยลำกล้องที่มีลักษณะพิเศษ(บรรจุด้วยครีบ, ส่วนหุ้มท้าย(breech)ด้วยอะลูมิเนียมที่ติดด้วยแผงความร้อนบนปากกระบอกปืนเพื่อให้ลำกล้องปืนระบายความร้อน) และกล่องกระสุนแบบจานจะติดตั้งไว้ข้างบน ปืนเลวิสได้ถูกใช้จนกระทั่งสงครามเกาหลีสิ้นสุดลง มันยังถูกใช้อย่างแพร่หลายในฐานะที่เป็นปืนกลอากาศยาน แทบทุกครั้งที่มีการห่อหุ้มผ้าเพื่อระบายความร้อนออกมา(เนื่องจากอากาศจะไหลผ่านเข้ามาทำให้เกิดการระบายความร้อนที่เพียงพอ) ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่หนึ่งและสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง "ปืนเลวิสเป็นปืนกลเบาแบบคลาสสิกที่มีการยอมรับมากที่สุดในโลก"[3]
