ชาวยิวไคเฟิง
ชาวยิวไคเฟิง (จีน: 開封猶太人; พินอิน: Kāifēng Yóutàirén; ฮีบรู: יהדות קאיפנג, อักษรโรมัน: Yahădūt Qāʾyfeng) ในอดีตถูกเรียกอย่างรวม ๆ กับคริสต์ศาสนิกชนและอิสลามิกชนว่า หุ้ยหุย[3][4] หรือเรียกว่า ชาวหุยหมวกน้ำเงิน (จีน: 藍帽回; พินอิน: Lánmào Húi) ตามเครื่องแต่งกาย เพื่อจำแนกออกจากชาวมุสลิม[5] เป็นกลุ่มชนยิวขนาดย่อมในเมืองไคเฟิง มณฑลเหอหนาน ประเทศจีน ในช่วงที่เข้าตั้งถิ่นฐานช่วงแรก พวกเขาอาจมีจำนวนประมาณ 2,500 คน[6] แม้ว่าจะถูกตัดขาดจากชาวยิวพลัดถิ่นกลุ่มอื่น ๆ บรรพบุรุษของพวกเขายังคงปฏิบัติตามธรรมเนียมและประเพณีของชาวยิวมาหลายศตวรรษ

วิถีชีวิตอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชุมชนไคเฟิงค่อย ๆ เสื่อมสลายลง เนื่องจากการถูกกลืนเข้าไปและแต่งงานข้ามชาติพันธุ์กับชาวฮั่นและชาวหุยรอบข้างมากขึ้น จนกระทั่งความเป็นยิวส่วนใหญ่สูญหายไปในคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 19 นอกเหนือจากการเก็บรักษาความทรงจำเกี่ยวกับอดีตของตระกูลชาวยิว[a][7]

ประวัติ
แก้ชาวจีนติดต่อกับชาวยิวครั้งแรกผ่านการค้าบนเส้นทางสายไหมที่เชื่อมการเดินทางจากจีนสู่ตะวันออกกลางและยุโรปตั้งแต่สมัยราชวงศ์ฮั่น ต่อมาได้รวมเข้ากับเส้นทางการค้าของจักรวรรดิอะคีเมนิด[12] คลื่นผู้อพยพเชื้อยิวกลุ่มแรกมาจากเอเชียตะวันตก ผ่านเส้นทางสายไหม ข้ามทะเลเข้าอินเดีย และเข้าสู่แดนจีนในช่วงราชวงศ์ถัง (ค.ศ. 618–907) หรืออาจก่อนหน้านั้น[13] โดยเป็นชาวยิวมิซราฮีจากบาบิโลนและเปอร์เซีย (ปัจจุบันคือประเทศอิรักและอิหร่าน) บ้างว่ามาจากอินเดียเข้าจีน ย้ายเข้าเมืองไคเฟิงในยุคราชวงศ์ซ่งเหนือ (ค.ศ. 960–1127)[14] จักรพรรดิจีนมีพระราชานุญาตให้ชาวยิวเหล่านี้ตั้งถิ่นฐานในเมืองไคเฟิง[15] การตั้งธรรมศาลาปรากฏครั้งแรกเมื่อ ค.ศ. 1163[16] กระทั่งในยุคราชวงศ์หมิง (ค.ศ. 1368–1644) ชาวยิวมีลูกหลานสืบลงมาแปดตระกูล ได้แก่ แซ่อ้าย (艾) แซ่สือ (石) แซ่เกา (高) แซ่กาน (甘) แซ่จิน (金) แซ่หลี่ (李) แซ่จาง (張) และแซ่เจ้า (趙)[17][18] โดยแซ่จินและแซ่สือมีความหมายสอดคล้องกับชื่อสกุลยิวแถบตะวันตกคือ ทองคำและศิลา[19][20] ต่อมาชาวยิวแซ่จางจำนวนมากเข้ารีตศาสนาอิสลาม[21]
ชาวยิวไคเฟิงแต่งงานข้ามชาติพันธุ์กับชาวจีนท้องถิ่น[22][23] จนลักษณะทางกายภาพแทบไม่แตกต่างกับเพื่อนบ้านที่ไม่ใช่ชาวยิว[24] มีเพียงอัตลักษณ์โดดเด่นเพียงอย่างเดียวคือไม่บริโภคเนื้อหมู[25] หญิงจีนรายหนึ่งที่มีบรรพบุรุษเป็นชาวยิวกล่าวว่า ครอบครัวของเธอไม่บริโภคเนื้อหมูหรือหอย และปู่ของเธอมักสวมหมวกสีน้ำเงินอยู่เป็นนิจ[26]

พิธีกรรม
แก้เดิมชาวยิวจะถูกเรียกว่า ชาวหุยหมวกน้ำเงิน เพราะชาวยิวนิยมสวมหมวกสีน้ำเงิน จึงใช้เรียกเพื่อจำแนกออกจากชาวคริสต์และมุสลิม[5] แต่จากการแต่งงานข้ามชาติพันธุ์กับชาวจีนฮั่นและอื่น ๆ ทำให้พวกเขามีรูปลักษณ์ไม่ต่างจากชาวจีนทั่วไป ถือธรรมเนียมอย่างจีน เป็นต้นว่ามีการจัดเทศกาลไหว้พระจันทร์ หรือเข้าร่วมตรุษจีน การรับประทานอาหารอย่างหมูหรือสัตว์เท้ากีบก็ไม่เคร่งครัดนักหากเทียบกับชาวยิวในโลกตะวันตก และในช่วงเทศกาลปัสคา ชาวยิวไคเฟิงบางบ้านยังนำเลือดไก่มาทาประตูบ้าน ต่างจากชาวยิวในตะวันตกที่ใช้เลือดแกะ[7]
เจ.แอล. ลีเบอร์มันน์ (J.L. Liebermann) เป็นชาวยิวจากตะวันตกคนแรกที่มาเที่ยวในไคเฟิงเมื่อ ค.ศ. 1867 บันทึกไว้ว่า "พวกเขามีที่ฝังศพเป็นของตัวเอง" และ ค.ศ. 1868 การประกอบพิธีกรรมทางศาสนาของพวกเขาเป็นเพียงเศษเสี้ยวหนึ่งจากในพระคัมภีร์ไบเบิล[36] ขณะที่ เอส. เอ็ม. เพิร์ลมันน์ (S.M.
