กองทัพอาณาจักรพม่า

กองทัพอาณาจักรพม่า (พม่า: တပ်မတော် [taʔmədɔ̀]) เป็นกองกำลังทหารพม่าราชาธิปไตย ตั้งแต่ศตวรรษที่ 9 ถึง ศตวรรษที่ 19. ในสมัยอาณาจักรพุกาม, อาณาจักรอังวะ, อาณาจักรตองอู และ อาณาจักรคองบอง ตามลำดับ เป็นกองกำลังทหารที่สำคัญในอุษาคเณย์ ในช่วงปลายศตวรรษที่ 19 กองทัพอาณาจักรพม่าพ่ายแพ้ต่อจักรวรรดิอังกฤษ ที่มีอาวุธยุทธภัณฑ์ที่ทันสมัย

กำลังพลในแต่ละหน่วย มีกำลังจำนวนหนึ่งพันนาย มีหน้าที่ในการรักษาพระนคร และ ดูแลพระราชวังหลวง โดยใช้ระบบไพร่ แต่ในยามศึกนั้น ใช้การเกณฑ์ทหารจากชายฉกรรจ์ ซึ่งมีพื้นฐานมาจากระบบ ahmudan กำลังทัพประกอบด้วย ทหารคชานึก, ทหารม้า, ทหารปืนใหญ่ และ ทหารเรือ[1]

ขณะเดียวกันกองทัพต้องทำสงครามกับดินแดนเพื่อนบ้าน โดยเฉพาะช่วงที่ชาติยุโรปครอบครองดินแดนต่างๆ เช่น โปรตุเกส และ ฝรั่งเศส ในศตวรรษที่ 17 ถึง ศตวรรษที่ 19 แต่มิอาจหยุดยั้งการทัพของกองทัพบริเตนของอังกฤษ ช่วงศตวรรษที่ 19 หลังสงครามพม่า-อังกฤษ กองทัพอาณาจักรพม่าถูกยุบเลิกพร้อมกับการยกเลิกระบบกษัตริย์ในพม่า เมื่อวันที่ 1 มกราคม ค.ศ. 1886

กองทัพพม่ามีชื่ออย่างเป็นทางการว่า ทัตมาดอว์ ซึ่งเป็นชื่อที่ใช้เรียกกองทัพแห่งสหภาพพม่าในปัจจบัน
