ปืนกลแม็กซิม
ปืนกลแม็กซิม (Maxim gun) เป็นปืนกลที่ใช้กำลังตนเองกระบอกแรกของโลก ประดิษฐ์โดยชาวอังกฤษที่เกิดในสหรัฐ[1] เซอร์ ไฮแรม สตีเวนส์ แม็กซิม (Hiram Stevens Maxim) ในปี ค.ศ. 1884 มันถูกเรียกว่า "the weapon most associated with [British] imperial conquest (อาวุธที่จะช่วยจักรวรรดิอังกฤษพิชิตดินแดนมากที่สุด)"[2]
