การแก้ต่างว่าเป็นกรณีพิเศษ (อังกฤษ: special pleading) เป็นเหตุผลวิบัติอรูปนัยที่อ้างกรณียกเว้นพิเศษต่อหลักการทั่วไป โดยไม่ให้เหตุผลว่าทำไมจึงเป็นข้อยกเว้นพิเศษ^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5] เป็นการประยุกต์ใช้การมีสองมาตรฐานอย่างหนึ่ง^[6]^[7]

ในการจำแนกเหตุผลวิบัติแบบคลาสสิกที่แยกประเภทออกเป็นเหตุผลวิบัติอรูปนัย (informal fallacy), เหตุผลวิบัติทางประชาน (cognitive), และเหตุผลวิบัติรูปนัย (formal) การแก้ต่างว่าเป็นกรณีพิเศษน่าจะรวมอยู่ในประเภทเหตุผลวิบัติทางประชาน คือดูเหมือนจะเป็นวิธีการทางคำพูด รวมทั้งคำอธิบายที่ไม่สมเหตุผลหรือเพื่อเบนเบี่ยงประเด็น เป็นเหตุผลวิบัติที่คล้ายคลึงกับการให้เหตุผลด้วยข้ออ้างต่าง ๆ เช่นการอ้างประเพณี การอ้างความใหม่ การอ้างความน่าจะเป็นไปได้ และการอ้างผู้ที่เชื่อถือได้^[8] (ดูข้ออื่น ๆ ในกาลามสูตร)

การยกกรณีพิเศษอาจทำเพื่อไม่ให้ถูกวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ โดยอาจมีรูปแบบต่างๆ ดังต่อไปนี้

การอ้างข้อยกเว้นจากหลักการที่ทั่วไปยอมรับว่าเป็นประเด็นในเรื่องนั้น

ตัวอย่าง: "ผมไม่สนใจเรื่องความน่าจะเป็นในที่นี้หรอก นี่เป็นเครื่องสล็อตแมชชีน ไม่ใช้วงล้อรูเล็ตต์ มันต่างกัน"

การอ้างข้อมูลที่ไม่สามารถจะตรวจสอบได้ เพราะอาจจะไม่เกี่ยวข้องกันหรือไม่สามารถกำหนดขอบเขตให้ชัดเจนได้

การตั้งข้อยกเว้นขึ้นเฉพาะหน้าเพื่อป้องกันสิ่งที่อ้างไม่ให้มาถึงตัว
