มาทรอสกามัลติมีเดียคอนเทนเนอร์ (อังกฤษ: Matroska Multimedia Container) เป็นการเข้ารหัสไฟล์ประเภท วิดีโอ โดยเป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงไฟล์จาก แผ่นวิดีโอ มาเป็นไฟล์เดียว

มาทรอสกาเป็นไฟล์ที่บรรจุ วิดีโอ เสียง รูปภาพ คำบรรยาย โดยใช้สิทธิ์การใช้งานแบบสาธารณะ [1] คือรูปแบบ Container เหมือนกล่องที่บรรจุเอาไฟล์ภาพ เสียง ซับไตเติล เข้าด้วยกัน ซึ่งไม่ใช่การ Compression หรือการบีบอัด ทำให้ไม่สูญเสียคุณภาพของภาพหรือเสียงแต่อย่างใด โดยเจ้า MKV สามารถบรรจุ วิดีโอ เสียง รูปภาพ ซับไตเติล แต่ละชนิดบรรจุได้มากกว่า 1 ไฟล์ โดยมีฟอร์แมตต่างๆคือ .MKV files (matroska video), .MKA files (matroska audio) และ .MKS files (subtitles) Mastroska เป็นรูปแบบไฟล์ประเภท Open Source สามารถนำไปพัฒนาได้โดยไม่ติดลิขสิทธ์ โปรแกรมจำพวก Tools หรือ Player จึงมีให้ใช้กันได้ฟรี

Matroska แพร่หลายในหมู่ แฟนซับอะนิเมะ เพราะมันสามารถที่จะเลือกฟังเสียงต้นฉบับ เปลี่ยนเสียงพากย์หรือซับไตเติลก็ได้ รูปแบบ Matroska ส่วนใหญ่จะใช้วิดีโอประเภท H.264 และแทร็คเสียงประเภท AC3 / AAC / DTS / Vorbis และซับไตเติลมากกว่า 1 ซับ (มักใช้คู่กับแบบอักษร TrueType หรือ OpenType)

Matroska คือคำเขียนในรูปภาษาอังกฤษ ในภาษารัสเซียจะเขียนว่า matryoshka (матрёшка)

การพัฒนา แก้

เป็นการพัฒนามาจาก MCF (Multimedia Container Format) ได้เกิดความขัดแย้งในการพัฒนาจากความคิดเห็น ไม่ตรงกันระหว่าง Lasse Kärkkäinen หัวหน้าทีมพัฒนาโปรเจกต์ MCF (ต่อมากลายเป็นก่อตั้ง Matroska) และ Steve Lhomme เกี่ยวกับการใช้ ภาษา Extensible Binary Meta Language (EBML)แทนรูปแบบของ binary มีการเปิด ศูนย์พัฒนาในวันที่ 6 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2543

อุปกรณ์ที่รองรับ แก้

โดยระบบการทำงานในอุปกรณ์พหพาแลพโทรทัศน์ โดยเป็นการใช้ ชิบถอดรหัส โดยบิรษัทิ Texas Instruments มีชื่อว่า "DaVinci" อยู่ในเครื่องเล่นสือชนิดพกพาของ Cowon A3 และยังนำไปใช้ในทีวีของ Samsung กับ LG

ส่วน Hardware ที่รองรับนั้นตอนนี้มีทีวีของ Samsung กับ LG Matroska ที่รองรับและได้รับการยืนยันแล้วใน Samsung's 6 series (LE40B650) กับ 7 series (UE40B7020) และ LG's LH5000 กับทีวีในรุ่นที่สูงกว่า ไฟล์ Matroska สามารถเล่นกับทีวีพวกนี้ได้โดยตรง เพียงแค่นำ USB หรือ HDD พกพา ที่มีไฟล์ Matroska เสียบเข้าไปในช่อง USB ของทีวีเท่านั้น

สรุปคือ ไฟล์ MKV ไม่ใช่มาตรฐานการบีบอัดชนิดใหม่ แต่เป็นการนำไฟล์ Contain ต่างๆมารวมกันเป็นไฟล์เดียว ถ้าใครเคยใช้โปรแกรมประเภท DVD to MKV ซึ่งพอกระบวนการเสร็จสิ้นจะได้ไฟล์ .MKV แต่ว่าเวลาแยกส่วนออกมาดูจริง ไฟล์ภาพอาจกลายเป็น .avi ไฟล์เสียงเป็น .ac3 (แล้วแต่ว่าโปรแกรมตั้งค่าแบบไหน) จะเห็นได้ว่า มันเป็นแค่ "กล่อง" ที่มีนามสกุล .MKV จริงๆ
