PAKAMIAN (พาคาเมี่ยน) แก้

What is Pakamian? Pakamian is a product of Pakaoma, the popularly used cloth piece of Thai men to dress up and for other usage. Pakaoma is then developed into local products called Pakamian. This article will describe characters, products and usage of Pakamian.

The new innovation developed from local fabric, this Thai products have different patterns depending on colours and patterns of each Pakaoma. A rectangular shape that is weaved in a sheet of fabric is an identity of Pakaoma which represents the characters of local Thai dress up. From those characteristics according to K. Nuttawan, the innovator, “Patterns will be divided into 2 styles which are classic and modern.” Modern style design has vivid colours different from classic style which design has only primary colours. (Kusuma Na Ayudthaya, 2558)[1]

 As mentioned at the above paragraph, Pakamian has its own identity.The reason that the innovators designed this products is they observe colourful of Pakaoma and apply to fashion products such as bags, cushion, pillow and accessories stuffs.[2] This ideas can stimulate local Thai products to become more international with some design tactics of adjusting colours and patterns. (MGR Online, 2554, para.5)[3]

To conclude, Pakamian is the new creativity innovation to creates value to local society make the advantages of Pakaoma which have a variety uses from past to nowadays. For now Pakamian is popular to be another souvenirs from Thailand.
