Kanom Jamongkut(Thai : ขนมจ่ามงกุฏ ) is a Thai traditional dessert from the era of King Rama II.Traditional Kanom Jamongkut is like a pudding with peanuts or watermelon seeds and packed in a banana leaf .[1] First , it was only eaten in royalty .Now , anybody can eat it .Also, its shape is different now.Kanom Jamongkut’s shape is like Kanom Thong-ek ,but Kanom Jamongkut is decorated with watermelon seeds surrounded with sugar like a crown and has edible gold foil on the top.The main ingredients of Kanom Jamongkut are wheat flour , eggs , sugar , coconut milk , water ,and watermelon seeds.[2] People use a lot of flowers and scented candle to make Kanom Jamongkut have the differenced smells, for example, flowers of Cananga odorata , Damask rose , and jasmine.It mix with coconut milk to make it more delicious .Kanom Jamongkut is a Thai desserts that is used for auspicious events ,for example, wedding ceremonies .Also, it is given to important people. However ,today it is hard to find because it is difficult to make it ,but it is sold at the King Rama II Memorail Park .[3]
