Polypedates
Polypedates เป็นสกุลของกบในวงศ์ Rhacophoridae ซึ่งเป็นวงศ์ของกบที่อาศัยตามพุ่มไม้และกบต้นไม้ในเขตร้อนบรรพกาล และอยู่ในวงศ์ย่อย Rhacophorinae พบทางตอนเหนือและตอนใต้ของทวีปเอเชีย[1]

ต้นไม้วิวัฒนาการ แก้
ต้นไม้วิวัฒนาการของ Polypedates ด้านล่างนำมาจากPyron & Wiens (2011).[5] มีอยู่ทั้งสิ้น 8 สปีชีส์ Polypedates เป็นกลุ่มพี่น้องของ Feihyla ซึ่งทั้ง Polypedates และ Feihyla เมื่อรวมกันจะเป็นกลุ่มพี่น้องของ Rhacophorus.[5]

Kuraishi, et al. (2013) จัดจำแนกกลุ่ม Polypedates ใหม่เป็นต้นไม้วิวัฒนาการด้านล่าง[6] คาดว่า Polypedates และ Rhacophorus แยกแขนงจากบรรพบุรุษร่วมล่าสุดเมื่อ 26.6 ล้านปีที่แล้ว ระหว่างสมัยโอลิโกซีน นอกจากนี้สกุล Taruga ยังถูกแยกออกมาเป็นสกุลต่างหากของตัวเอง โดยเป็นสกุลเฉพาะถิ่นของศรีลังกา
