Dolly (5 July 1996 – 14 February 2003) was a female sheep, and the first mammal ever cloned from an adult cell. The success of the cloning made worldwide news.
Since her cloning several other animals have been cloned, including horses, pigs, bulls and possibly domestic animals.
Her preserved remains are now on display in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
