English: Persian Gulf (Nov. 28, 2004) - Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class William Miller, assigned to the “Gunslingers” of Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Five (VFA-105), arms a AGM-65 Maverick laser-guided missile loaded on an F/A-18 Hornet prior to launch from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The AGM-65 Maverick is an air-to-surface tactical missile designed for close air support, interdiction and defense suppression. It is effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation and fuel storage facilities. Truman's Carrier Strike Group Ten (CSG-10) and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) are currently on a scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
