ภาษาแอราเมอิกยิวบาบิโลเนีย

ภาษาแอราเมอิกยิวบาบิโลเนีย เป็นภาษาแอราเมอิกยุคกลางที่ใช้โดยนักเขียนชาวยิวระหว่างพุทธศตวรรษที่ 9-16 เป็นภาษาของทัลมุดในบาบิโลเนียและวรรณกรรมหลังยุคนั้น ภาษานี้ใกล้เคียงกับสำเนียงตะวันออกอื่นๆของภาษาแอราเมอิก เช่น ภาษามันดาอิก และภาษาซีเรียคตะวันออกของนิกายอัสซีเรีย การออกเสียงเริ่มต้นยังไม่แน่นอน แต่ระบบการอ่านถูกจัดขึ้นโดยผู้พูดภาษาฮีบรูเยเมน[1]

ภาษาแอราเมอิกในทัลมุดเป็นภาษาที่มีลักษณะพิเศษ และใช้เป็นภาษากฏหมายแบบเดียวกับภาษากฏหมายของฝรั่งเศส เมื่อภาษาอาหรับกลายเป็นภาษาในชีวิตประจำวัน ภาษาแอราเมอิกสำเนียงนี้จึงกลายเป็นแหล่งของศัพท์เฉพาะเช่น tiyuvta และ teyku ซึ่งยังใช้ในการเขียนกฏหมายภาษาฮีบรู และมีอิทธิพลต่อภาษาฮีบรูสมัยใหม่ด้วย
