การคัดเลือกเจ้าภาพกีฬาโอลิมปิก เป็นกระบวนการที่คณะกรรมการโอลิมปิกแห่งชาติเลือกเมืองจากภายในอาณาเขตประเทศของตนเพื่อเสนอเป็นเจ้าภาพการแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิก ถ้าหากได้รับคัดเลือกก็จะได้เป็นเจ้าภาพกีฬาพาราลิมปิกโดยอัตโนมัติ[1] ตั้งแต่การก่อตั้งคณะกรรมการโอลิมปิกสากล (IOC) ในปี ค.ศ. 1894 ซึ่งประสบความสำเร็จจากการใช้ชื่อของการแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิกกรีกโบราณเพื่อสร้างการแข่งขันกีฬาสมัยใหม่ ก็มีเมืองที่สนใจคัดเลือกแพื่อป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิกฤดูร้อนหรือฤดูหนาว

They were cancelled as well because of the war.[8]
