การเขียน และการออกเสียงชื่อศาสนาซิกข์นั้น หากเขียนว่า "สิกข์" ในภาษาไทยจะอ่านออกเสียงว่า “สิกส์" ซึ่งไม่ตรงกับเสียงใน[[ภาษาปัญจาบ]] และจะทำให้ความหมายเปลี่ยนไป เพราะฉะนั้นเพื่อให้อ่านออกเสียง และความหมายถูกต้อง จึงต้องเขียนว่า "ซิกข์" และอ่านออกเสียงว่า "ซิก", หรืองานวิ่งการกุศล ไทย-ซิกข์ มาราธอนซึ่งจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี ก็ใช้การเขียนว่า "ซิกข์" ขณะที่ใน[[สารานุกรมไทยสำหรับเยาวชน]]มีการสะกดว่า "สิกข์" <ref>[http://www.kanchanapisek.or.th/kp6/BOOK4/chapter8/t4-8-l2.htm ศาสนาสิกข์ สะกด ส.เสือ] สารานุกรมสำหรับเยาวชน เครือข่ายกาญจนาภิเษก</ref>
