สำหรับในฤดูกาล 2554 สโมสรได้ทุ่มเงินกว่า 35 ล้านบาท คว้าตัวนักเตะฝีเท้าดี โดยมี[[สมชาย ชวยบุญชุม]] อดีตหัวหน้าผู้ฝึกสอนเอสซีจี สมุทรสงคราม เป็นประธานเทคนิค และมี[[ครองพล ดาวเรือง]]เป็นหัวหน้าผู้ฝึกสอน แต่ยังไม่ประสบความสำเร็จ ทางบริษัทแคชทูเดย์จึงคืนสิทธิ์การทำทีมให้กับองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดจันทบุรี โดยในปี 2555 ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกลุ่มทุนประเทศมาเลเซีย
