:เป็นรุ่นที่พัฒนาขึ้นมาโดยวัตถุประสงค์คาดหวังให้มีฤทธิ์ต้านแบคทีเรียกว้างทั้งแกรมบวกและแกรมลบ โดยมีผลกับ แกรมบวก ได้แก่ methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) , methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) ,methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci (MRCoNS), Streptococcus spp. และ penicillin-resistant streptococcus pneumoniaet (PRSP) และแกรมลบ ได้แก่ Enterobacter cloacae ,Escherichia coli , Proteus vulgaris , Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Serratia spp. และ Haemophilus influenzae
