หลังการสู้รบดำเนินไปได้หนึ่งวัน ฝ่ายเยอรมนีต้องพบกับความสูญเสียอย่างหนักและยังไม่สามารถบรรลุวัตถุประสงค์ใดๆ ในการรบครั้งนี้ ในวันถัดมา ด้วยปัญหาการสูยเสียการติดต่อและความล้มเหลวในการควบคุมสถานการณ์ของฝ่ายสัมพันธมิตร สนามบินในเมืองมาเล็ม (Maleme) จึงเสียให้แก่ฝ่ายเยอรมนี ทำให้เยอรมนีได้รับกำลังเสริมและครองความเหนือกว่าฝ่ายที่ตั้งรับได้ การสู้รบได้ดำเนินต่อไปอีกเกือบ 10 วันจึงยุติลง
