หอยสังข์หนามเล็ก[2] (ชื่อสามัญ:Murex trapa) เป็นสปีชีส์หนึ่งในหอยทากทะเลอยู่ในไฟลัมมอลลัสกาในวงศ์หอยหนาม[1]
การกระจายพันธุ์ แก้
พวกมันสามารถพบได้ในมหาสมุทรอินเดียและมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิกโดยเฉพาะบริเวณเกาะมาดากัสการ์ ศรีลังกา ทะเลอันดามันอินโดนีเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ ไต้หวันและตอนใต้ของญี่ปุ่น[3][4]
ลักษณะ แก้
เปลือกของพวกมันมีความยาวประมาณ 50-124 มิลลิเมตร และมีเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางยาว 8-21 มิลลิเมตร[3]
เปลือกของมันมีขนาดไม่ค่อยใหญ่มากมีหนามและร่อยตะปุ่มตะป่ำ เปลือกมีสีขาวสีเทาและสีน้ำตาล[5][6][7]
พวกมันส่วนมากจะกินหอย2ฝาเป็นอาหารเช่น หอยแครง หอยแมลงภู่และเพรียงเป็นต้น[7]
