สารสนเทศศาสตร์สังคม
สารสนเทศศาสตร์สังคม (Social informatics) เป็นการศึกษาเครื่องมือการสื่อสารและสารสนเทศในบริบทวัฒนธรรมและสถาบัน หรือการศึกษาแบบสหวิทยาการของการออกแบบ การใช้ และผลที่ตามมาจากเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ซึ่งคำนึงถึงการปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเทคโนโลยีเหล่านั้นกับบริบททางสถาบันและทางวัฒนธรม ด้วยความเป็นสหวิทยาการของมัน สารสนเทศศาสตร์สังคมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการวิจัยเชิงเศรษฐกิจสังคม ที่พิเคราะห์วิถีที่สิ่งประดิษฐ์ทางเทคโนโลยีและบริบททางสังคมของมนุษย์นั้นได้ร่วมกันสถาปนาเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสารทั้งมวลขึ้นมา
