ภาษาพหุศูนย์
ภาษาพหุศูนย์ (อังกฤษ: pluricentric language, polycentric language) คือภาษาที่มีรูปแบบมาตรฐานซึ่งผ่านกระบวนการจัดประมวลมากกว่าหนึ่งรูปแบบ โดยมักขึ้นอยู่กับประเทศที่แตกต่างกัน[1][2][3] ตัวอย่างได้แก่ภาษาเกาหลี ภาษาจีน ภาษาฝรั่งเศส ภาษาสเปน ภาษาโปรตุเกส ภาษาอังกฤษ ภาษาเยอรมัน ภาษาสวีเดน ภาษาอาร์มีเนีย และภาษาบอสเนีย-โครเอเชีย-มอนเตเนโกร-เซอร์เบีย[4][5] กรณีที่ตรงข้ามกับภาษาพหุศูนย์คือภาษาศูนย์เดียว (monocentric language) ซึ่งมีรูปแบบมาตรฐานอย่างเป็นทางการเพียงรูปแบบเดียว ตัวอย่างได้แก่ภาษาญี่ปุ่นและภาษารัสเซีย[4] ในบางกรณี มาตรฐานที่แตกต่างกันของภาษาพหุศูนย์ภาษาหนึ่ง ๆ อาจพัฒนาซับซ้อนขึ้นจนกลายเป็นภาษาเอกเทศ (autonomous language) ก็ได้ ดังที่เกิดขึ้นกับภาษามาเลเซียและภาษาอินโดนีเซีย หรือภาษาฮินดีและภาษาอูรดู[4] กระบวนการเดียวกันนี้กำลังเกิดขึ้นในภาษาบอสเนีย-โครเอเชีย-มอนเตเนโกร-เซอร์เบีย[4]
