ภาษากลางเมดิเตอร์เรเนียน
ภาษากลางเมดิเตอร์เรเนียน (อังกฤษ: Mediterranean Lingua Franca) หรือ ซาบีร์ (Sabir) เป็นภาษา[1]หรือกลุ่มภาษาติดต่อที่เคยใช้เป็นภาษากลางในบริเวณเมดิเตอร์เรเนียนในช่วงคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 11 ถึงคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 19[2] เอพริล มักมาน บรรยายว่าภาษาซาบีร์เป็น "พิดจินดั้งเดิมในคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 15" และ "ส่วนหลงเหลือของภาษากลางเดิม ซึ่งเป็นภาษาสมัยกลางที่พ่อค้าแถบเมดิเตอร์เรเนียนและนักรบครูเสดใช้กัน"[3] โอเปอร์สไตน์และมักมานจำแนกให้ภาษาซาบีร์และ "ภาษากลาง" เป็นภาษาต่างหากจากกัน แต่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกัน[1][3]
