ปลาแบสปากเล็ก (อังกฤษ: Smallmouth bass, Smallmouth, Bronzeback, Brown bass, Brownie, Smallie, Bronze bass, Bareback bass; ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์: Micropterus dolomieu) เป็นปลาน้ำจืดชนิดหนึ่งในวงศ์ปลากะพงปากกว้าง (Centrarchidae) ในอันดับปลากะพง (Perciformes) เป็นชนิดต้นแบบของสกุล มีถิ่นกำเนิดในลุ่มแม่น้ำมิสซิสซิปปีตอนบนและตอนกลาง ระบบแม่น้ำเซนต์ลอว์เรนซ์-เกรตเลกส์ และลุ่มน้ำฮัดสันเบย์
ลักษณะ แก้
ปลาแบสปากเล็กมักมีสีน้ำตาล (พบสีเหลืองบ้าง) ตาแดง มักมีลายขวางสีน้ำตาลเข้มมากกว่าจะเป็นลายตามยาว มีก้านครีบอ่อน 13–15 ก้านในครีบหลัง ตัวผู้มีขนาดเล็กกว่าตัวเมีย ตัวผู้หนักประมาณ 2 ปอนด์ ขณะที่ตัวเมียหนัก 3 - 6 ปอนด์ ถิ่นอาศัยมีอิทธิพลกับสี น้ำหนัก และรูปร่าง เช่น ถ้าอยู่ในน้ำสีเข้ม มันจะมีสีน้ำตาลเข้ม ลำตัวทรงตอร์ปิโด ขณะที่ถ้าอาศัยในทะเลสาบที่พื้นเป็นทราย มันจะมีสีเหลืองน้ำตาล และมีลำตัวรูปไข่
